Growing Futures: The Veggie4School Experience at GHPS Kogilu
Nestled amidst the serene surroundings of Kogilu, GHPS Kogilu stands as a beacon of education and enlightenment, where young minds blossom and flourish under the nurturing guidance of their esteemed Headmaster, Mr. Thimmegowda. In the 6th grade, a group of eager students, including Anusha B, Bhuvan Kumar, Deeksha E, and Kaveri, embarked on an enlightening journey through Chapter 4 of the Veggie4School Programme: “From Seed to Sprout.”
With boundless curiosity and enthusiasm, the students eagerly participated in the workshops, their eyes sparkling with wonder at the mysteries of seeds and plants. The seed germination test proved to be a particular favorite, igniting their imaginations as they witnessed the magic of new life sprouting from tiny seeds. Inspired by the demonstration, they eagerly took on the challenge themselves, determined to calculate the germination percentage and track the progress of their seeds in the coming days.
The act of sowing seeds in the growing pots became a moment of pride and responsibility for the students of GHPS Kogilu. With careful hands and tender hearts, they filled each pot with soil, their faces alight with excitement as they carefully planted the seeds. Assuring their teachers of their commitment, they vowed to nurture the pots with care and diligence, understanding the crucial role of watering in the journey towards successful germination.
Amidst the workshops and activities, the students also found joy in the story of the tiny cumin and the mighty coco de mer seeds. Through this tale, they gained a deeper appreciation for the inherent potential within every seed, regardless of its size. They realized that just like the seeds they planted, they too held the power to grow and thrive with nurturing care and dedication.
